IFLA is an international organization of lawyers specializing in Franchising, Distribution Law and Licensing. Most IFLA`s members have been involved in Franchising and International Business for at least 10 years. By this membership Sagell & Co. will enhance its services rendered to franchise systems that are planning to expand their businesses outside Sweden.

Dan-Michael Sagell has taken part in the work of the Swedish Franchise Association to establish new recommendations concerning the disclosure obligations of the Franchisor.
This is an important work as the legislator has declared that these recommendations will be an important guideline as to which specific information the Franchisor must give to a potential franchisee according to the Swedish disclosure law.

Sagell & Co Advokatbyrå has sponsored the report “Franchise in Sweden 2006 – a survey on franchise in Sweden” that has been produced by the Swedish Franchise Association and the Swedish Retail Institute and is published today.
The report states that more and more companies in Sweden use franchise as a business model. The franchise companies in Sweden have a total turnover around SEK 115 billion and employ combined about 125 000 people, thus being an import factor in the Swedish economy.

Since October 1 st, 2006, Sweden has her first franchise law that regulates the obligation of a franchisor to disclose certain information to the franchisee in good time before signing the franchise agreement. Dan-Michael Sagell has in cooperation with BDO Nordic AB produced a book that briefly describes this law.
